<div class="MsoNormal">
Well I don’t know what kind of quality there will be in this
update. It was certainly a whirlwind day. It got kicked off with a loss of
power for the entire camp at about 4am this morning. It remained out through
9am chapel this morning. (There were bad storms in the area. We did not get the
rain but we got the wind. John said that a large tree fell over and took out the
lines. ) That situation made chapel
interesting in a good way. We sat outside on the pavement near the activity
center for chapel service. The morning was cool and it was a good experience.
Steve Pettit continued using the examples Joseph learned through his own
sufferings as example of what we should do ourselves. He mentioned being a
servant because a servant’s goal is to make others successful. Our goal as teen
leaders is to make sure each member of TOTAL is successful in their walk with
the Lord. Your goal of a church member is to be a servant for the Lord ensuring
the Marler Road Baptist Church is successful delivering the gospel in our area…you
see the point. Joseph teaches us patience and to be humble. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Power came back around 10’ish. We had a good day weather
wise. Slightly cooler and mostly cloudy which was a welcomed change from the
heat we have had the last couple of days.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
During our Family Reunion time, several of the teens mentioned
that today’s chapel was one of their favorite messages thus far this week.
Scotty’s not over here typing….he’s over there whistling something….so I’m
going to brag on him a little. He does such a great job during Family Reunion
time. In such good way he can encourage, emphasize and teach the teens in the
short time we have them all together during Family Reunion. He make ensures
this time’s focus is Spiritual. I’ve told him before, but I will put it in
print, I appreciate our teen leader Scotty Sparks!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Later in the morning the teens had their God & I Time
and well as follow-up to that God & I time.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
After lunch the kids got to enjoy a lot of free time. I
watched some tubing, Big Swing, Basketball, crafts…I could go on. I also
watched three of our guys do the paintball. It was very fun to watch, but if
they get called up to go fight for our country, we may be in trouble. I saw a
lot of shooting but not much hitting,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Going too long here….we lost power again this evening right
before the evening service. When this happens, they use a couple of small
generators to run one spot light and the sound system. They open the doors and
you hope for a breeze. It got hot but the service was good. I’ll let you ask
your teen about <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1142262025" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight’s</span></span> message. Remind them it is the one without power. The
electricity came back on right near the end of the service.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
I do thank God for His blessings, for this camp, and for our
teens. God is Good.</div>

This was certainly an action packed day. Today was stuffed
full of activities or the teens. They hiked to the falls, rode the zip line had
lake time. They also had a long break to do whatever they wanted. Several were
in the craft shop, in the creek, on the big swing, the big slide and on and on.
You name it, our kids did it. I’m glad they are taking in everything The Wilds
has to offer. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Most importantly they are having quality time with God.
Memory verses, Cabin Devotions, Chapel, Christian Life Seminars, God & I
Time and the evening service every day. I enjoy being with them during these sessions.
They help me every bit as much as the teens. One of my most favorite sessions
is the Christian Life Seminar.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I challenge you who read this update to ask your teen about
a few (or all) of these sessions listed above. See which one they liked best.
Ask them who the speaker was. Ask them what the message was about. Ask them
what God taught them during the session. Ask them about any decision they made
due to something they heard or learned during them. There is a lot of material
for quality spiritual conversation to be had. It will help them to put into
action at home the things they thought about or decided here when they have
their family members as their accountability partners.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Today’s Chapel service was “God Will Always Be With Us”. Teens
are Studying Joseph and using his life proving this fact that God will always
be with us like He was with Joseph.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Christian Life Seminar was taught by camp favorite Willie.
He spoke about the importance of not quitting church. He provided the statistics
of how many 20 year olds drift away from church after they graduate high
school. He gave many real life relevant points. I always appreciate and enjoy
the way Willie teaches.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The evening service with Steve Pettit dealt with Why You Must
Be Born Again. It was very good food for thought and several teens in the
service moved during invitation time. I hope someone accepted Him tonight. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Wednesday night always brings Fun Time after the evening
service. High quality, funny skits which are very entertaining. Every year they
us some sponsors in one of the skits on in some way. Usually to make fun of
them. Scotty got it this year. You can ask him what happened. After fun time
the teens got pizza, donuts and soft drinks if they wanted them with a sponsor
dunk contest. Scotty and I are too old to be eating pizza at <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1150880956" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">10:30 pm</span></span> so we left

<div class="MsoNormal">
I think I have mentioned this every year, but for those
newbies that may not have read posts in years past, I have a favorite prayer
spot at The Wilds. There is a small lake on the property. On the top end is the
area for swimming and play. There is a large tower to jump off of, small zip
lines to jump into the water from, a small tube slide, climbing wall, basketball
goals and greatest of all the blob. A
lot of screaming, splashing, jumping and fun is had at the top of the lake. The
bottom of the lake is reserved for the kayaking, paddle boats and canoes. These
activities keep the waters churned as well. But, in the morning, you crest a
small hill at the bottom of the lake that is normally reserved for the boats.
The water has stilled to a glass like surface overnight. Only the sparkle
caused by those little bugs that zip along the surface can be seen. The sun
comes up straight in front of you reflecting off of the water. Most mornings,
there is an evaporative fog lifting. There is my place at The Wilds where I
like to speak to God. Scotty and I took full advantage of the beautiful spot to
pray for each of our teens individually and specifically this morning. I know
that prayers don’t rise any quicker from that spot, but there is just something
about it.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Anyway, we enjoyed our first full day at The Wilds. Many
activities were enjoyed. I hope you are enjoying the picture being posted. As
with all years, we will begin posting fewer and fewer each day. So, no evil
eyes please.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Teens are active in their Chapel and God and I Time of the mornings
and had another big field game together called Field Yatzee this evening. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
JBC kids are all doing well. Christy checks on each often and all
are having fun. Scotty joined Christy in the JBC evening service this evening
while I was with the teens on the field. Mark Herbster is speaking to the JCB
again this year.</div>

We just returned from the teen evening service a few minutes
ago.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I really enjoyed the message <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1216050071" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight</span></span>. Simple but deep. Can
those two descriptions go together? Steve Pettit spoke to the teens about, “How
Do You Overcome Sin?” He gave us the Triple A’s to accomplish this. </div>
<span style="font-family: Symbol;">·<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;">
</span></span>Accept – We must believe<br />
<span style="font-family: Symbol;">·<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;">
</span></span>Admit – There must be an honest confession<br />
<span style="font-family: Symbol;">·<span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;">
</span></span>Act – We must make a decisive choice to leave sin.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
Kinda funny story to leave you with for <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_1216050072" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight</span></span>. During some
teen cabin sessions today, the sponsors had the opportunity to ride the new zip
line that stretches across 3rd Falls. Scotty and I were about 8th
to go off. We heard some rumblings of thunder off in the distance. Dark clouds
began moving our way. When we were close to our turn it started to rain a
little. We get to the block to get attached to the line. It starts raining a
lot. One would think they would say, “We better hold off, or wait or anything
but….OK sit down on your harness and take off.” When we looked out, the heavens
had opened. White sheets of rain completely obscured the landing zone on the
other side of the mountain. However, there we went. The rain was no hard and
the speed of the zip line was so fast that I literally could not catch my breath on the ride
over. Once on the other side the rain slacked a little and the ride back was
more enjoyable. Needless to say, we were soaked through and through.</div>

<span style="font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="color: black;">We often pray and ask. Each time, God gives us an answer to
our prayer. Some times that answer may be a “no”, but the prayer is answered.
Many times we ask but fail to thank God or answering the request. So, I want to
thank God for getting us to The Wilds safely this evening. I want to thank Him
for keeping the vans and trailer together mechanically, thank him for good
traveling weather, thank Him for letting Scotty drive the boys’ van…heard it
was loud : ) </span></span><span style="color: black; font-size: x-small;">{that may be a run-on
sentence….sorry Jill. She cringes over improper grammar.} Now our prayer is
that our kids and all of the kids at camp this week grow Spiritually. We are asking
God to save those who are lost most of all and help those who are hurting at
home. We want those strong in the faith to draw closer to Him.</span></span></div>
<span style="color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: large;">
</span><br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;">I want to share another huge answer to prayer. As most of
you know Ally lives with diabetes. I was truly impressed how smart she is with
maintaining her numbers. On the trip up, she was reading snack labels for the
numbers. This would tell her is she should or could eat it. However, there is
huge understandable apprehension from “mom” with her kid going to camp for a
week with this added responsibility. God has all things big and small under
control. Ally’s cabin counselor is a nursing student….how about that??? Better
yet, upon check-in, the camp nurse along with Ally, Christy, the cabin
counselor all made a conference call with Megan and spelled out exactly what
would happen this week. The nurse is actually going to go in every night for a
night reading and text it to Megan, as well as the daily routine. God is good!!!!</span></div>
<span style="color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: large;">
</span><br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;">And what a lead in to tonight’s message from Steve Pettit.
Preacher Pettit is preaching this week about “Is God Good?” Scotty and I were
just discussing this message. On the surface we all say….”Yes, God is good.”
But, do we really think about and realize that everything comes from His
goodness. Because of His goodness, all things are possible.</span></div>
<span style="color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: large;">
</span><br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;">Most times I provide the outline to the message. But,
tonight I am going to leave you with two thoughts from the message:</span></div>
<span style="color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: large;">
</span><br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;">Never under estimate the generosity of God.</span></div>
<span style="color: black; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: large;">
</span><br />
<div style="margin: 0in 0in 8pt;">
<span style="color: black; font-family: "calibri"; font-size: large;">The goodness of God is to lead you to repentance.</span></div>

I noticed that some of you joined and watched some of the action live on the Periscope App. Isn't that cool !!! I love it when we can use technology for the good in which God intended it. Scotty and I would definitely like to have your feedback on that live feed. It took a little fanagaling (its a word!) to figure it out and get it going. So, tell us what you think. After the night game teens sprinted across the field to either get in line for Pizza, Donuts & drinks or to get in line for the Giant Swing, Small Zip Line, Putt Putt. Lauren and Caitlyn got in line in time to ride the Giant Swing. This was Lauren's first time and it was at night!. Sarah & Emily sprinted for a night ride of the Land Trolley (Zip Line). Others just "hung out" and ate.</b></span><br />

<b>We were able to enjoy family reunion time with the Juniors at JBC today and then also got to do the same thing with our teens. Again, if you did not join in live on Periscope at that time, you can still download the free app, follow TOTALMRBC and watch them. The videos stay on there for some amount of time....we are not sure. Family Reunion is always a special time to pull all of them together and see what the Lord is doing for each of them.</b></div>

<b>I hit the wall today....very tired and hurting. I could tell the teens were tired also. Most of them were down there with me a few minutes ago hanging out and we were all comparing our ills. We sounded like a nursing home day room. I was complaining about my back and feet hurting, Courtney side and neck, Travis all over, Kenzie was just peeling paint off her face, all the others had something that was aching....anyway...All of us were ready to head to our cabins for some rest.</b></div>

I can witness to the fact that the teens are having a great time. They are being fed the Word via several different avenues throughout the day. We are praying for those "lasting" decision to be made, those real life changers. It is very easy for us as adults to make a decision of some kind whether it be big or small only to see it fizzle out. Think back over the years (for some of us that takes more thinking than for others) over those New Year's resolutions you made to yourself. How many of those good, even great intentions are you still doing? Tough huh??? It is the same for the teens. They can make a decision here at camp with great intentions only to see it vapor away after they get back into their routine. But, those "life changers" will stick with them.</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8000001907349px;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8000001907349px;">
<b>Keep praying for our teens as well as all of the teens here this week. Most of all for salvation !!!! But, also for the home lives and things that some of the teens that are here this week have to go through every day. Scotty, Christy and I had prayer time together this morning. We were able to pray over the cards that are filled out on every camper by their leaders. Some of the things that are checked on the cards and written in explanation would break your heart. You would not think a person at such a young age would ever be facing such severe situations.</b><div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>I am thankful for the what the teens learn here during the week. One of the teens told me today as we were walking all the way from the basketball courts, around the Giant Swing, by the putt putt course, across the big field, behind the Activity Center to get in the water to go tubing that she can still remember the verses that she learned from several years ago. Isn't that great! One day God will put her into a situation or open a door that she we be able to recall that verse or verses that will be used to help her or someone to God's glory. Each of our teens are getting that this week. Thankfully they come from a great church that instills that same Word into them through <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_337673365" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">Sunday</span></span> School, Kings Kinds and TOTAL. I described the path we took above for those that have been to this special place in the past. When I was describing it, I'll bet you were picturing yourself right here. You new exactly how and where we were walking. Am I right???</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Our Juniors are having a great time.I caught them while they were on the Giant Slide. They both braved it (as I guess you saw on the Twitter pics). Both were nervous but after the first ride, they climbed the stairs to do it again. Nothing but smiles. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We had surprise guests today. We would like to thank Tammy Stone along with Melissa and Kyle for making the trek up to the Wilds today. We had sat down on the field near the volleyball courts in the grass for our picnic lunch. The teens had joined us and up walked Tammy & crew. They were able to tour the camp and enjoy time with the teens. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We experienced a new group game today. Though staff said they have played this game before, none of us nor the teens have ever heard of it. It was called Water Wars. All of the games, and there were several, were played at the lake simultaneously. It was amazing to watch and was big fun. Scotty and I decided that we're are going to have to install a big pond behind the church so we can do some of these games with our group. Rachel....add that to the agenda for the next business meeting please.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Several of our teens had the opportunity today to experience the new Zip Line that I described yesterday. The remaining teens will have that opportunity <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_337673366" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-bottom-style: dashed; border-bottom-width: 1px; position: relative; top: -2px; z-index: 0;" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ" style="position: relative; top: 2px; z-index: -1;">tomorrow</span></span>. No one who rode it came away disappointed.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We had a great meal for supper today and then had a blast at Funtime after the evening service.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>I am not going to synopsis the services. I you would like to talk with your teen about them...</b></div>

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8000001907349px;">
<b>Our appologies for the Periscope Live broadcast not working this afternoon. We tested it yesterday "up top" and it worked fine. We were going to broadcast "down below" near the Activity Center where they have wifi and the signal is strong. However, the phone app was saying "Signal Too Weak". Go figure. Our intent was to broadcast then and there because the teens usually congrat with us there before entering the evening service. We would have all or most right there for you to see live. We are going to try again using the cellular service and see if that works better.</b></div>

<div>
<b>I am going to call this the Tylenol Tuesday update.
This is the day that my muscles boldly ask the question, "Why have you
not used me for a year?" I am a little sore today but it has been such a
good one. Again, great weather all day. We had a couple of little short
showers. They were not anything that hindered any activities.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Tuesday
is an action packed day. There is very little "down-time". We have
moved from one location to another trying to catch all of our teens in
their activities. We enjoyed a quality chapel today with the teens then
immediately hoofed it up to our sponsor session where Ken spoke. I will
highlight those two messages in a few. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Scotty
and I did take time out today to enjoy a new attraction here at The
Wilds. Today was the only day that sponsors were allowed to ride the new
Zip Line over Third Falls. For those who don't know. The Wilds have
four spectacular waterfalls on their property. Pictures and words can
not do them justice. For many many years, only First Falls, Second Falls
and Fourth Falls were accessible to campers. The Third Falls have never
been seen by any campers. The reason is Third Falls is inaccessible due
to the rugged steep terrain. The Wilds built a new observation deck
that overlooks the Third Falls and have installed a sophisticated zip
line. You can now zip line above the Third Falls literally traveling
directly 200ft above it. Views and vistas are amazing!!! We had a great
time doing this activity. Thank God for good engineers! I was expecting
to see a lot of steel and re-enforcements but much like the "Big Swing",
it is made from what looks like light poles. I guess they knew what
they were doing because here I sit explaining it.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We
caught just about all teens as they were enjoying free time this
afternoon. This is a great time for each teen to group up and simply do
the things they enjoy or become really adventurous and tackle one of the
big scary attractions. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We used new technology
this year. We trialed it for just a short time this afternoon. It
seemed to go well. We are going to organize a time where we can get more
of the teens together. This afternoon, we simply wanted to make sure it
would work. If you would like to see us at camp "live" you must
download the free "Periscope" app. It is owned by Twitter and works
alongside with twitter. Check it out if you would like to. We had some
great pictures of today's activities and we hope you all enjoyed them.
We are trying to get pics of everyone. It is hard to catch everyone
sometimes because of the different schedules and it is simply hard to find
everyone in the large crowds. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Scotty & Amanda attended the JBC (Junior Boot Camp) evening service <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_851916890" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight</span></span> along with Neil & Christy. Scotty mentioned it was focused from Proverbs <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_851916891" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">4:23</span></span>.
Mark emphasized the importance of protecting their hearts. Both of our
junior ladies are doing wonderfully. I went and visited them for a short
time this afternoon during their free time and they were ALL smiles.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Teen
Chapel service was teaching the teens that Christians are to have an
influence on the world. We are the salt and the light. If we have lost
our savor then we are just bland we don't taste good. As Christians, if
we have lost out savor, we are simply worldly. We are also the light of
the world. As you all know, our world is really dark right now. We as
Christians need to let our light shine because light "exposes". </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>The
sponsor message with Ken was simply rich. I could mention several
things about how he biblically expounded on The Wild's mission
statement. But, instead I am going to mention one thing that stood out
to me. He listed God's Mission.....God is on a mission to redeem and
restore fallen people to the likeness of His Son to the praise of His
glory.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b><span class="aBn" data-term="goog_851916892" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">Tonight's</span></span>
focused on having us make Christ our All-in-All. We all need to
cultivate a passionate pursuit of Jesus Christ. We need to work and
study to find out who Jesus really is. Our commitment to Jesus is to be
intentional. We must always be killing sin, or the sin will kill you.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>There
is so much more I could mention about each service. But remember God
speaks to each of us differently through the preached word. If one of
the others were typing this update, I am sure they would mention other
things, other points, other declarations that hit home with them. </b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Use
the updates to ask your teens what the messages said to them. Use the
updates to help them remember which service it was and let them expound
on what God told them.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>

Thank
You for loving us and saving us. Thank You for safety in travel and
beautiful weather today. Thank You for allowing us another week at The
Wilds."</b><br />
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>God certainly has blessed us with a great
day. The weather up here has been perfect. It was slightly over cast,
cool with a cool breeze. We just got out of this evening's service as I
write this. It is <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_95253126" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">10:56</span></span>.
When we walked out of the activity center is just started to rain a
little. Staff has told us that it was extremely hot last week so we are
looking good for this week.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>We have seen everyone and all are doing well. Everyone seemed very tired after <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_95253127" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight's</span></span> service. It has been a long day. My eyes are crossing as I type now. It's going to be a short update.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Will Galkin is the speaker this week. I'm not sure if I am spelling his last name correctly though. He laid a baseline message <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_95253128" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight</span></span>
speaking on how God's glory is revealed in His creation. The love of
the Lord is perfect, it is flawless and God always gets it right.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>He left us with three prayers that we all need to pray <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_95253129" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tonight</span></span>.</b></div>
<div>
<b>1. Pray our secrets sins will be revealed. These are the sins that we don't even realize we are committing ourselves.</b></div>
<div>
<b>2. Pray we are protected from our presumptuous sins. Don't let them have dominion over you.</b></div>
<div>
<b>3. Pray the words of our mouths and hearts be pleasing to you.</b></div>
<div>
<b><br /></b></div>
<div>
<b>Looking forward to a great day in the Lord <span class="aBn" data-term="goog_95253130" tabindex="0"><span class="aQJ">tomorrow</span></span>!</b></div>

I know you have all missed them but they have made some life changing decisions that I hope will make a change in all of your homes as well as our church.<br />
<br />
I first want to start off by thanking God for allowing April and I to see camp Wilds through 2 different perspectives, first as a camper and now as a sponsor. It is a big difference as you get to see things that you didn't even know goes on. One of the great things about the Wilds is that since 12 years ago since we last was on the site many things have changed all for the better. There's new activities, more places with A/C, new buildings, and many more improvements that have made the camp better. But the great thing is as the camp has made many changes, there mission remains the same, and the even greater thing is that the same God that was here 12 years ago when I was last here is still working the same way and has not changed at all. I'm so glad I serve a never changing God. It has been a true pleasure to come back up here as a sponsor to the greatest kids in the World.t<br />
<br />
Let me get into the day. All of the kids are doing great, today was the day they had the most free time, so Dale went tubing with a group of them, April and I played putt-putt with one, and we all stood around and talked from time time as we seen each other, it's really a more relaxed day. It seems like the kids really got to enjoy their free time. It gives us leaders a chance to connect with them which all of us teen leaders absolutely love.<br />
<br />
Today also we had 3 services morning chapel, christian life seminar, and evening chapel.<br />
This week in morning chapel they have been studying 2 Timothy today was the only one I was able to catch but it was about being a Faithful Servant and there was many good points but the evangelist Andy Gleiser said something that really stuck out "<b>Victory over sin is fighting and not quitting"</b>, and I pray that all of us always fight and never quit.<br />
<br />
Christian life seminar was another great message which talked about social media, and the impact it can have on our lives both positive and negative. Social media can be a great witnessing tool to others so we need to be careful what we post and reply too because there are many people watching our lives.<br />
<br />
Then tonight was a very special service that happens at the wilds every Friday night and that is the Fireside service. Preacher Gleiser began the service with a great message about the Choice of New Generations: Giving Self to God using 2 Kings 2 and how Elijah was called up and Elisha was left, but he was the new generation to carry on the gospel and we see in Elisha the willingness and how we need to have that same willingness to serve<b>. </b><br />
<b><br /></b>
Then finally the fireside service it is sooooo special 12 years ago I participated in it, and tonight I got to do it again. As the service began Matt Herbster spoke on how the stick represents your crooked no good life and you throw it into the fire symbolizing that you are giving your life to God. And how we all need to just give our lives to God 100%. Also Herbster closed the service by saying that the Wilds is special but you can also make home a special place where you can grow as a Christian. It's simple and in a nutshell the Wilds eliminates distractions so at home we need to eliminate distractions, so I ask you parents help your kids eliminate those distractions and they can really Grow close to God.<br />
<br />
Sorry this is so long but it has been 12 years since April and I have been here and I thank God for the opportunity words can't describe what these few days have meant for April and I and we look forward to coming again. This has been truly special to see camp as a camper and now as a sponsor, but the greatest thing is God's hand is on this place. This place is so special too April and I, and you don't realize how special it is until you've missed for over decade, I just thank God for this place.Total Leaderhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17875125839380506965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6319151026639792618.post-54873485054147562142014-06-26T23:15:00.000-04:002014-06-26T23:15:14.296-04:00Thursday UpdateGood Thursday night to everyone (or maybe Friday morning according to when you may be looking at this)<br />
<br />
We were again blessed with great weather. Temps were good and no rain all day.<br />
<br />
I hope all having been praying for our teens. Yesterday's and tonight's messages were very good presentations of the gospel. I truly hope eternal decisions will be made before we leave from the Wilds. As Amanda & Christy prayed for the JBC'ers this morning, Scotty and I prayed for our teens and the prayer cards. It is amazing some of the issues that have been checked on the prayer cards for the campers here this week. I guarantee you that you can not even imagine some of things some of the teens that are here this week are facing. So, as you continue to pray for our kids please pray for all the kids here this week.<br />
<br />
We had a very action packed day today. We were blessed to get to spend A LOT of time with our teens today. Not only during Family Reunion time but throughout the day as well. I do enjoy being with them. Our church is blessed with a good group of young'uns. Speaking of Family Reunion, this was a very special one this year. Some very personal testimonies were shared by our teens as well as our leaders. I ask God to continue to work in their lives. I ask that He helps them make the right choices in ALL things. I got to tube with Preston, Samuel & Daniel. Human Foosball with about all of them. Rode the Super Slide and a bunch that I can't even remember. We had lunch on the field and enjoyed the Lumber Fair. After the evening service, they played night time Big Ball Feet Ball under the lights. It was really fun to watch.<br />
<br />
It was good to have Chad Waddell and Chris Philips visit today. Chad and Chris rode the giant swing....you will have to ask Chad about it!<br />
<br />
Brandon and April arrived and have settled into Scotty and Amanda's spot. I think they are really excited to be here. They are looking through the lens of a leader now instead of a teen... good times!<br />
<br />
I won't give too much detail of the services because I know I am going long here. You will have to ask you teen about it and ask to see their notes on the services.<br />
<br />
This morning's Chapel continued the study of II Timothy "Be True To The Gospel"<br />
1) Be a Distinct Disciple of Christ<br />
2) Be a Dedicated Disciple of Christ<br />
<br />
Sponsor Chapel was taken from Luke 18:1 "Have Faith that will not Faint"<br />
<br />
Teen Evening Service was taken from Col 3:1-4<br />
"Chasing After Christ"<br />
You must understand your relationship with Christ<br />
You must understand your responsibility with Christ<br />
You must understand your revelation with Christ<br />
<br />
Tomorrow, Brandon is going to do the entire update. I am looking forward to his perspective.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07967967807928833947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6319151026639792618.post-54000202924705143972014-06-25T23:06:00.001-04:002014-06-25T23:06:31.785-04:00Wednesday UpdateFor those who are missing their babies, fear not, we are half way home! It is hard to believe that it is already Wednesday. However, my legs are saying, "is it only Wednesday?" I think the camp brought in some step stretchers since last year. It seems as though they add a few extras steps every year. We have had another great day as far as the weather goes. It has been partly cloudy, which is wonderful and no rain. The temperature has been very nice.<br />
<br />
For those who are not following the teen Twitter account, I highly suggest requesting to follow. I think most are enjoying it more than these updates. (I don't know for sure, but let me know when I get back !!!) The teen Twitter account is @totalmrbc.<br />
<br />
Hopefully you got to see the beautiful spot that we pray for the teens when I Tweeted it this morning. It is a very serene, calm place over looking the lake, to pray for the needs of our kids, the camp as a whole and the prayer cards that are registered.<br />
<br />
Wednesday's Chapel service continued on in the study of II Timothy. Bro. Andy spoke on, "Be Strong in the Gospel".<br />
The three realities of being strong in the gospel are:<br />
1) Being strong in the Gospel is a mandate<br />
2) Being Strong in the Gospel has a motivation<br />
3) Being strong in the Gospel has a mission.<br />
<br />
We got to attend the CLS (Christian Life Seminar) today. I love these sessions for the teens. They are very practical and current. Today's topic was <u>Dating</u>. I wrote so many notes that I would never be able to include them all and keep this somewhat short. Willie compared the way the "world" models dating compared to the way God models dating. He gave clear Biblical reasons for dating..<br />
<br />
We enjoyed a cookout on the field for lunch and then the teens had a big time playing the group game "Scramble Scrabble". I have lots of pics of that for later.<br />
<br />
The teen leaders agreed that today's messages were the best of the week so far. Tonight's evening service was taken from Matthew 7:13-14. The preacher stated that there were only two roads in life. There is the road to death and the road to life. Tonight he focused on the road to death.<br />
<br />
- The road to death has an entrance...it is the wide gate.<br />
- The road to death has an end... it is destruction.<br />
- The road to death has an exit...it is Jesus Christ the narrow gate.<br />
If you are on the wrong road, you must <u>believe</u> there is something better on the other road. Then you must <u>repent</u> to get on the narrow road. He presented the gospel very well tonight. I hope all of our teens realize what road they are currently on and if it is not the narrow road, then they need to get on it by getting saved.<br />
<br />
Tonight's "Fun Time" was the best one that I have ever seen. They did a great job and all the teens as well as the adult loved it. After Fun Time there was a lumberjack competition with a pizza party. I am too old for pizza that late at night....Scotty & Amanda are still young, they indulged.<br />

It rained a little here and there, but not enough to hinder our fun. I've said this before but it warrants saying again what a special place this is. I love to see the hand of God on this physical location. I am so glad our teens get the opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to work in their lives without the worldly influences that normally bombard them daily. All they have to do is give Him some space to work. Hopefully they don't take for granted all the beauty that is here for them to enjoy.<br />
<br />
All of our teens are doing really well. We haven't had any major issues at all. We had a little homesickness with a Junior Boot Camper but I think she got over it pretty quickly.<br />
During teen chapel today Andy spoke on "Be Courageous with the Gospel". He used II Tim 1 as his scripture.<br />
<br />
Matt Herbster lead our sponsor seminar speaking on "Perspective". He used the lessons learned during the lose of his wife last year to colon cancer. He also used her example of how she dealt with cancer when dealing with others. it's amazing to see what they went through and how they handled it.<br />
<br />
Again our schedule allowed us to attend the JBC (Junior Boot Camp) evening service without missing anything with the teens.<br />
<br />
Tonight's service with the teens was a strong message taken from II Sam 18. It was focused toward teens who have rage and rebellion in their hearts and how that will cause ruin in their lives.<br />
<br />
Mommas... you can be proud. Everyone looked very nice a "put together" tonight for the service. I have the pictures to prove it!<br />
<br />
I'm looking forward to what God has for us tomorrow!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07967967807928833947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6319151026639792618.post-51237681278535028572014-06-24T19:07:00.001-04:002014-06-24T19:07:17.993-04:00Tuesday PhotosHere are some photos from today most form breakfast and one during God & I Time:<br />

We had very good weather and made great time. Thanks to Brandon for posting the pictures. That saves me a lot of time.<br />
<br />
The Wilds had a completly different registration procedure this year. It worked better but it was different. We were also registering the Juniors at the same time which added a new wrinkle. Scotty handled the Juniors and I took care of the teens. Both processes went very smoothly.<br />
<br />
We attended our first ever JBC (Junior Boot Camp) Evening Service. The speaker this week is Mark Herbster. He spoke to the Juniors about being Soldiers in God's Army using the examples of David's Mighty Men. We got to this service a little late due to being in the sponsor session. So we missed a little of the beginning. He was speaking from II Samuel 23.<br />
Stand - Must be willing to stand alone<br />
Serve - Serve our King selflessly<br />
Submit - Submit to our King sincerely<br />
Struggle - Struggle securely<br />
<br />
During this time, the teens enjoyed the traditional game "Big Balls" on the main field as they oft do. A person does not get to use the word "oft" much. So, points for me for working that in. Scotty and I were headed down to be with the teens after the Big Balls game during their free time before the evening service and the heavens opened. We had a good rain but it slacked off enough before the evening service so that most teens didn't get too wet.<br />
<br />
We had a very good service tonight. Andy Gleiser (Sp?) is the speaker this week. He is a Youth Paster in Indiana. You could tell, by his illustrations and examples used, that he is a youth worker by calling. This is the first time we have heard him speak.<br />
<br />
He preached from Psalm 1:1-3<br />
"God is targeting you to partner with Him" (He wants to make your life successful)<br />
3 Parts of God's Plan for Your Success:<br />
1) Reject Sin<br />
- Reject sinful (unbiblical, wrong) councel<br />
- Reject sinful companionship<br />
- Reject sinful character<br />
2) Receive Scripture<br />
- Love God's Word<br />
- Learn God's Word (you should bleed it)<br />
- Live God's Word<br />
3) Rewarding of His success<br />
- He will make you Spiritually glad<br />
- You will be Spiritually grounded<br />
- You will be Spiritually growing<br />
- You will be Spiritually green (an evergreen of Christ's... always producing)<br />
- You will be Spiritually gleaning<br />
<br />
As I mentioned in the tweet earlier. I spoke with ALL the teens before the evening service and all were doing well. I hope that puts some mommas at ease.<br />
<br />
Please forgive any typos...it is 11:44pm and 6:30am is coming quickly.<br />
